Sharp shards of compact sand lay across the white pearl sink standing upright below my mask of a face. These razor fragments are drenched in a salty ketchup paste; slowly seeping to embrace he countertop of my stainless steel figured room. I peer into my broken reflection as I become unleashed and recreated-whom he has made. My tightly clenched fists of rage slowly begin to release the scarlet red blood shed from within. Now, scrambling to reconstruct the broken pieces, warm adrenaline thrashes throughout my white water like veins as I stare back into her eyes as she cries - I can’t tell a soul-he'll find out - Lately, I’ve been frantically trying to commence my break away. It is as if he is molasses, swallowing me whole, keeping me captured. A light is illuminated; the closely fabricated cracks of the small woodenlaundry closet door is the only structure separating me from becoming the victim. Again; my body becomes an egg in a paint shaker as the tightly closed doors swing open with an intense crash as I am ripped from my sanctuary. Eyes wide shut. My cries of agony don’t seem to affect him; it is more like his power source than his kryptonite - Alone-scared - My need to “split”-a term I often use to emancipate my sufferings-one deep incision will end it all. I would let it leak out-my illness. Again; I cry my secret tears - No longer hidden; are the results of physical-destruction - Mornings; I wake up screaming. I suffer uncontrollably as I make it easier and easier for him to hurt me-I give up the fight. I 'always' give up the fight. I once was weak; but now I am strong - BREAK FREE!
