The current VoicesNet Poetry Competition is a FREE monthly poetry contest that has online submissions and uses your email address to communicate with you during the various phases of the free poetry contest.

Here is basically how our contest works, step by step:

(1) Submit your poem on our poem submission page and wait to hear from us. You are required to provide a valid email address and it is important that you keep it active because that is how we communicate with you. You can also look up your results at anytime using our new Contest Results feature at our website.

(2) Your poem is first reviewed for content to make sure site content guidelines are met. If your poem is within our posting guidelines, we will display your poem on the website and send you an email letting you know that your poem is online.

(3) If your poem is declined due to content, you will receive a DECLINE email informing you that your poem has been declined for content reasons.

(4) Your poem will then be reviewed separately by three different literary judges. Each judge makes a separate decision as to whether your poem should be moved on to the final round of judging. Each time your poem is reviewed you will receive an email letting you know that the review is completed.

(5) At the end of each monthly contest period, all of the poems that have been selected to be moved to the final round of judging by at least one judge will be eligible for the final contest judging.

(6) The Top 3 Poems are then chosen from all of the poems that were eligible for final round judging. These are the top award winners. The Top 3 winners are then announced on our web site, in our forum, and to thousands in our Visions Literary Journal.  The winners are announced on the main home page of the site by the middle of the following month after each contest month ends.

All Contest Correspondence is accomplished via email, so if you enter, please use an email address that you plan to keep active.

Who is Eligible?

Poets of all ages are eligible and all styles of poetry are acceptable.

How and When to Submit

We would like to thank you in advance for your devotion to the development of creative writing endeavors. We ask that you submit one poem per month to our monthly contest.

Use the link on the left menu bar on most VoicesNet site pages or the link at the top of most VoicesNet pages that says "CONTEST".

Submission Requirements
Poems must be original works.

No plagiarized poems.
Please submit only one poem at a time.
The poet's full name and email address must be provided.
The poet must be able to be notified via email if their poem has been selected.
